Shannon was not only a very caring person in general, but she also took time to make my young daughter feel seen, heard and safe. While we have not always had the best of visits to the doctor, Shannon eased all her fears and took her time. It was busy.  She did her best to not show that it was, but we could tell.  Not only did she excel as a person, but she also excels at being a human. My daughter is transgender and has a lot of anxiety about how people will perceive her. Shannon called her by her preferred name and pronouns the whole way from start to finish and didn't skip a beat. She showed my daughter a pin she was wearing that showed she supported her and so many others. Shannon is a true gift. If we ever need to come back, I hope she'll be there.
