June 2026 Honoree
Shannon Martin, LPN
Shannon works as an LPN on unit 2. I have recognized the compassion she takes in caring for our residents.
A particular night that stood out to me was a night when the unit was short-staffed, and we only had two CNAs. I primarily work as an RN supervisor, and this shift was stressful trying to divide the work between staff.
Shannon offered to work as a CNA alongside me for another nurse's cart. Shannon already had a full and heavy load, but she offered to help without hesitation.
Shannon assisted in obtaining vitals and providing total care for all the residents on that cart. I was amazed because Shannon usually does full care on the majority of her own residents.
Shannon showed leadership skills and is always willing to offer a helping hand. She is the true definition of what teamwork and compassion mean.
I feel confident working with Shannon because she is an experienced and skilled nurse. She has become a role model to me.
Shannon is a true asset to Miller County Nursing Home.
