As an overwhelmed and tired mama with an 8-week old baby (patient), I was emotional and unsure about the level of care/direction we should take. After speaking to Shannon, she comforted my fears, calmly explaining the process and facilitated a relationship with the attending physician. She helped direct my questions to the appropriate channels and made sure that my questions were answered.
She sat with me, even when she was busy, and let me cry. That emotional compassion helped bolster my confidence and allowed me an outlet for my stress. She made sure to stop by and give me updates and helped me understand the various health procedures. When my two young children stopped by for their first visit (I hadn't seen them in almost 4 days), she brought snacks for the kids, got me a pull-up (potty training accident) and a change of clothes, and even came back with toys for them to play with! We had a wonderful reunion during a very stressful period, because of Shannon's involvement!
