Shannon Millsaps, RN MSN

I was fortunate to have Shannon Millsaps as my nurse while I was admitted to the hospital. She was attentive and listened to my needs. I had an IV in, that was quite painful, and when I asked for it to be moved to the other arm, she instantly and expertly placed a new one. I couldn't even feel it! I was alone and scared. She was caring and compassionate. I couldn’t have asked for a better nurse. Two days later, I had a rough morning and was thrilled to see her when she popped in to check on me. She wasn’t assigned to me that day, but I appreciate her concern for me. She took time to let me vent my frustrations and cry. The icing on the cake was when she brought me a cinnamon roll because I told her I hadn’t eaten dinner or breakfast. She had gone above and beyond to make me comfortable. I’ve never had a nurse like that, and she has improved my mental well-being. You need more nurses like her!
