Nurse Shannon would explain the medication my mom was prescribed and the benefits they would have to make her comfortable. She would ask my mom every morning how she was feeling. She really understood the palliative care that my mom was on. It was nice that Shannon was there, along with my wife, holding the hands of my mother when she passed.

My mom was a teacher for 30 years. After she passed, Shannon brought in several nursing students to teach them how to respectfully remove the medical equipment that my mom still had in and on her. I know my mom would have been proud to know that she was still teaching students after her death.
