I would like to nominate Shannon Sinclair for the first DAISY Award at Signature Healthcare. Her qualifications aren't based on a single moment but on a consistent and remarkable pattern of excellence. She embodies what it means to be an exemplary nurse—not only is she smart and dependable, but she is also genuinely kind and welcoming to everyone she encounters, from patients and visitors to her colleagues.
Shannon consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty every single day. She is often the first person to volunteer, whether it's helping a new hire feel welcome, or assisting a colleague with a critically ill patient, to even rolling up her sleeves and "suiting up" to help her manager clean out the staff locker room due to "critters". She is a true professional role model who demonstrates what a nurse at Signature Healthcare should be.
Additionally, Shannon's commitment to patient care is outstanding. She consistently provides compassionate and high-quality care, and her dedication extends to all the patients on her unit, whether she is their primary nurse or not. Over the past few years, numerous patients have told me how comfortable and confident they feel knowing that Shannon Sinclair is the nurse caring for them that day. Her professionalism and character also earn her the respect of her peers across the organization, who look up to her as a leader. Shannon Sinclair truly exemplifies everything the DAISY Award stands for.

So many amazing things to say about Shannon. I will start with nursing. She's definitely one of the best I've ever had the privilege of working with. She's so kind, respectful and compassionate with her patients and family members. It's never a bother for Shannon; you can tell she loves her job. She told me personally how much she loves nursing. It shows! Shannon also has the role of being a charge nurse on A2. We always know the shift will run smoothly with Shannon in charge. She's never bothered or frazzled. As we all know, a calm, supportive, helpful charge nurse makes all the difference. Shannon has stepped up to do things like clean the staff fridge when nobody else would. She doesn't even use the staff fridge, that's the funny part. She and Deb Sturge made it look brand new. She makes homemade cookies for us, along with helping Deb with staffing issues. She's always willing to pick up a double shift or come in on her days off to help out. What I'm saying here is Shannon is so deserving of this award. She goes above and beyond daily! She gives 100% to anything and everything she does. Please consider her for this DAISY award.
