One day a patient was brought into the Emergency Center after having an anaphylactic reaction. According to the patient, he hadn't been able to fill his prescription for an emergency EpiPen due to the cost of the medication. He was forced to call 911 to get treatment instead of using the injection at home when the reaction began. Shannon called a doctor's office in the hospital that she knew had coupons for EpiPens and picked the coupons up for her patient. Thanks to Shannon, this life saving drug is much more affordable for him.
