Last night when I called to get an update on my grandmother, I spoke to a nurse named Shannon Schraa who provided me with a detailed update and then offered to Facetime the family tomorrow because she would be on shift. I made the comment how wonderful this would be as it would be my birthday.
Today, I got the Facetime call with my grandmother wearing a homemade birthday hat for me that Shannon made! It was very thoughtful and compassionate of Shannon to take the time to Facetime and add that extra special touch with the homemade birthday hat.
Shannon is a true DAISY Nurse for going above and beyond as a nurse and her compassion during this difficult time with the COVID19 restrictions and families not being able to be at the hospital to visit loved ones.
