Shannon Sholds, BS, ASN, RN

Shannon has done several things over my three-day stay that have been incredible. She is just a lot of fun to be around. She is upbeat when she comes in, she makes jokes, and she is kind to everyone. One day, I was in so much pain and I just could not understand it, and I could not get anyone to bring me my pain medicine. She took the time to speak to her senior nurse and get my medications adjusted. This took time, energy, and thoughtfulness. There is nothing worse than being in pain in a strange town in a strange hospital with people you don't know. Shannon made this easier and much, much better. Today, Shannon took over an hour to help me brush my hair out. That may not sound like much, but I realize that I had developed an incredible rats' nest in my hair that I would've never dreamed of while lying down on my back waiting for a hip replacement. She took the time to brush and comb and get every knot out because I was in tears. I just want to thank Shannon, and also let you know what a very valuable employee you have. These are the kinds of things that make nurses so special in the world today, and you are very lucky to have one on your staff at Lahey Burlington.
