From the day my daughter was admitted, Shannon took extra care to explain the processes of the hospital and do many small but thoughtful things to make us more comfortable. Although my daughter did not require much in the way of medical support, Shannon always checked in when she had to check on her other patients. She was always very upbeat and kind.
Specifically, one day I was struggling with the overwhelming thoughts of managing all the demands of psychologically supporting the day in/day out issues of my daughter's chronic pain condition. Shannon used a lot of details from our previous conversations to bolster me up mentally. It was very thoughtful because it showed she actually listened and remembered details about our life and family. Shannon is not only a kind and competent nurse; she is a compassionate and thoughtful person.
