Shannon was taking of a patient on the unit who was end of life. While visiting with the patient he told her that he wished he could have gone to Hawaii. When her shift was over, she went to the store and “brought Hawaii to him.” She came back to the hospital that night and decorated his room with Hawaiian tropical decorations. The patient and his family were so grateful for the care she provided and the compassion she showed as she did it!
