Shannon is an exceptional young lady; not only is she super sweet and pleasant to be around, but her bedside manner is just what all nurses, doctors, or anyone in the health field should strive to be like.
There were so many wonderful things to say about Shannon that we just wrote them out on separate sheets of paper. Thank you for the DAISY Award. People like Shannon and others who are exemplary in their field should be shown appreciation for all they do for others. When it's genuine and from the heart, it doesn't go unnoticed by others, and it should be recognized and talked about so others can strive to be like Shannon.
Shannon, Shannon, Shannon, who is this person called Shannon. Upon my arrival to this hospital which is one of many hospital stays that I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. This stay is by far the very best stay out of every facility I've ever been at. Mainly due to staff; however, one staff member in particular is by far my angel. If I could wrap her up and take her home with us, I would. She's been so helpful and considerate and emotionally upbuilding from the very moment I met her. There were questions I had in my mind that I was afraid to ask her because I didn't think she had the time to talk, but she was so open and informative that I asked everything that was on my mind. She gave no inclination that I was bothering her. She went above and beyond to answer questions from my wife and me. Her personality is so warm; it kept me in place because I wanted to leave and sign myself out. I don't care who believes this or not, but she was the sole reason I decided to stay. I hope I never have to go through this again, but should I, no matter how far away I am, I hope I'm awarded the opportunity to have my same Shannon. This has been the best hospital stay I've ever had. Thank you, Shannon. I really appreciate you!

The minute we got her for the evening shift, and I heard her calm and inviting tone, I instantly liked her. I could feel her warmth for people. She stood out as different and just special. It's not that the other nurses weren't nice, but there is just something extraordinary about her as a person. She just exudes confidence in her field, and she is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff.
Anything my husband didn't understand about his treatment, she was able to describe in detail, in a way we both could understand. I see her as a triple threat:
1) She is super nice
2) She knows her stuff as a nurse! Knowledge is key.
3) She is personable and down to earth and really cares about helping people. She made us feel like family.
We were waiting to see her every evening for her shift. We talked like we have known each other for years. Truly a caring person. If more people were like her, the world would be a much better place. The best nurse, the best person we have ever come across in my husband's many hospital stays, and I always spend the night, so I've met many nurses. She is the best, hands down.
