I truly believe my nurse was the reason that my delivery went as smoothly as it did. She worked with me one on one throughout the process. She advocated for me with my doctor, and was my voice the entire time. She held my hand through my epidural and made sure that my every need was met. When it was time to push, she held my oxygen mask, and let me take as many breaks as I needed. She made sure that my birth plan was followed. She was able to read my body more than I could. Because she prepared me so well, my baby came out in only four pushes. She was there for every moment and went above and beyond. Her heart was fully in it, and because of that, my daughter came into the world smoothly.
