My daughter has been in the hospital for a few days and we have been told different things by different departments. As parents, we were confused and frustrated. We couldn’t figure out exactly what the issue was. Shante could tell that we were frustrated with the information we were receiving from the medical team. She took the time, came into the room, listened to our concerns, and became an advocate for us. Shante took the time out of her busy schedule to hear us and call the medical team to relay those concerns. She even sat in with us while the doctor came in. I believe this is how a nurse should be with every patient/parents. She was very patient and compassionate. More nurses need to be like her, and some doctors need to learn from her.
