I am writing to wholeheartedly nominate our manager, Ms. Shantell Cupido, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding attitude, leadership abilities, inspiration, dedication, contribution to improving our unit, and remarkable problem-solving abilities, as well as knowledge and expertise. Ms. Shantell Cupido's exceptional interpersonal skills, commitment to both our professional and personal well-being, unwavering support for her team, and heartfelt compassion, along with her adept complex patient management skills, truly make her an outstanding candidate for this esteemed award.
As a dedicated member of the Case Management and Home Health Care teams at our organization, Shantell has consistently demonstrated exceptional qualities that set her apart as an exemplary leader and manager. Her positive attitude is inspirational, creating an environment that fosters teamwork, innovation, and growth. She approaches every challenge with great aplomb, motivating those around her to strive for excellence. Furthermore, Shantell has demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities, effectively guiding her team of case managers to success. She inspires and motivates her team members to achieve their best, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Her ability to guide our team with vision and dedication has been the main reason for our successes, leading to the incredible achievement of being awarded the first team DAISY Award at JHAH.
In addition, Shantell has significantly contributed to the overall improvement of the unit. She consistently seeks out opportunities for process improvement, implementing innovative strategies that enhance efficiency and quality of care. Her advanced approach has led to measurable improvements in patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and the unit's overall performance.
Moreover, Shantell exhibits exceptional individual proficiency in resolving workplace issues. Her problem-solving approach is not only effective but also compassionate. She navigates challenges with a calm demeanor, finding solutions that not only address the issue at hand but also lay out a platform for problem-solving in the future. Additionally, Shantell demonstrates broad knowledge, interest, and expertise in her field, continuously striving for excellence. One of Shantell's greatest strengths is her exceptional interpersonal skills. Her sympathetic and empathetic nature allows her to build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect. She is always willing to listen and provide support and guidance to all of us. These skills are evident in her day-to-day interactions, contributing to a cohesive and harmonious work environment.
She believes that this group should be like a family. She makes sure that we gather for breakfast, celebrate our birthdays (She is the first one who knows about our birthdays), organize an outdoor activity, and support each other when needed. Shantell's sincere interest in the well-being of her team is evident in her willingness to help navigate social issues and offer assistance. She goes the extra mile, checking if any of us need even financial support.
These meaningful gestures make us feel more valued and appreciated. Such support can be exemplified during our colleague's personal emergency. O had to take an emergency leave to attend to his ill mother. Shantell went above and beyond to provide support. Her empathy and understanding during this challenging time were truly exceptional and made a significant difference for him. She was in daily contact with him, asking about his mother's health updates. She even offered to support him financially if needed. Her act showed us how great she is, not only as a leader but also as a person.
Last but not least, Shantell stands out for her compassionate care and caring sincerity, not only for each team member but also for each patient. Her compassion, caring, and strong leadership skills have been instrumental in navigating complex patient cases, ensuring that each individual receives the highest standard of care, even in challenging situations. A great example of that was a patient who was handicapped and living alone without any support in an Aramco singles camp. Although this patient was under home health care, he faced difficulties due to his psychological condition and lack of family or friends' support. He was non-compliant and stubborn when it came to following the medical treatment plan. Shantell demonstrated strong compassion in providing care for this patient in his challenging circumstances. She personally visited the patient at home, coordinated with various departments, such as the patient's working department and Aramco housing, and advocated for the patient's rights and treatment needs in the hospital. Shantell went beyond standard policies to help the patient to the maximum extent, including contacting the patient's family for support, arranging for psychological evaluation, and expediting the patient's admission for proper care. Even after a long hospitalization, Shantell continued to follow up with him, fighting for his needs, such as his retention and salary maintenance.
