Shareen cared for a patient in Endoscopy and treated her with concern, kindness, and respect during the patient’s care experience. The patient woke up after the procedure and shared that she was unable to move and experienced pain in her shoulders. Shareen immediately called an RRT and ensured the patient’s transition of care to the Emergency Department remained seamless.
 
Shareen supported the patient throughout her transition to the emergency room. The patient was extremely nervous and expressed how apologetic she was for causing an RRT.  Shareen walked the patient step-by-step through what was going to occur and truly listened to the patient’s concerns. Shareen treated the patient with such compassion and kindness that the patient was reassured. She transported the patient’s belongings, contacted the patient’s family member, and coordinate with the proceduralist on the status of the patient.  The patient was extremely appreciative of Shareen.

We would like to honor Shareen for the compassionate care she delivers to her patients. Shareen’s compassion not only touch the patients but also transcended across departments. Our Endoscopy Department is excited to recognize Shareen Chandra as our DAISY Award recipient.
