Sharla had taken care of a patient during a prior admission and remembered that the patient and his wife did not like to sleep apart from each other since he had a recent cancer diagnosis. Sharla heard the patient was back and that the wife had gone home to sleep because the room was only a single bed. Sharla called the patient's wife and offered to move him into a double room so they could be together. This made the patient and his wife both so happy. Sharla always does anything she can to make her patients smile and is always thinking about others, even when they aren't her patients. Sharla was not the nurse for this patient but took the time out of her shift to make sure he and his spouse were taken care of.
