Sharon Brown has made a difference not only in the Trauma Dept but in the Critical Care departments. She is our previous Trauma Coordinator and it is clear why she was selected as Critical Care Clinical Director. She has truly played a key role to lead our nursing core to treat our local community rapidly, safely, and with extraordinary care and compassion. Sharon's compassion, customer service orientation and continuous smile have influenced her staff immensely. We believe it stems from her years working at Disneyland as an RN. Members of her staff have been the recipients of the last four DAISY Awards and 2 consecutive Nurse of the Year Awards. She scheduled team building activities that had us thinking outside the box such as surviving the unity escape room. Sharon initiated the Stop the Bleed Campaign, involving the entire Trauma team to teach the community life saving measures in the event of natural disasters or traumatic events. She also played a key role in setting up the training at March Air Reserve Base for the Air National Guard and USA Air Force Reserve. When taking on the Critical Care Departments she quickly engaged the staff. She has highlighted concerns, resolutions and created a plan of action. She has an open door policy and is very approachable. She has led by example and is an Extraordinary Nurse Leader.
