I am an iFlex RN who floated to 2C today, and I wanted to send my appreciation to the PM RN nurse, Sharon Wilken.
She received a patient that needed quite a bit of work. In short, the patient needed an admission history, blood transfusion, three wounds photographed, was hypoglycemic, needed a second IV, and was incontinent of bowel and urine with frequent requests for the bedpan. Not only did Sharon complete everything on that list in one short hour; she also checked on me before she left to make sure I needed a co-signature on the first unit of blood.
Simply put, I do not always get such diligence and teamwork when a late admission comes and has a huge task list. Sharon is a true team player and recognized that my shift would start quite hectic due to the care I would have to give to just one of my patients, and she rallied at the end of her difficult shift to help me have a good start.
Just wanted to let you know what great nurses you have on your floor, and I enjoyed being here today and getting to know Sharon and the entire team!
