I want to recognize Sharon. She made my mom feel so comfortable and was very encouraging when it came to her walking and eating. Sharon took the time to explain orders or the current care plan to my mom, which comforted my mom. Her bedside manner is exactly what a patient needs when they have to stay in the hospital. A friendly face can go a long way with an unknown stay. We need more nurses like Sharon!

When I was first admitted on Friday evening after my left hip replacement, I was greeted with Sharon’s kindness and compassion. Although I was not cognizant when I first checked in, I immediately sensed Sharon’s love for what she was doing. For Sharon, nursing isn’t just a job, it is a ministry of compassion. Each time Sharon administered care, she thoroughly explained what she was doing and why she did the procedure. I will leave SGMC in better physical condition, yet more significantly, with a piece of Sharon’s loving heart. Thank you, Sharon, for lighting up the room with joy each time you helped me.
