An Extraordinary Nurse can be described as being amazing, exceptional, and sensational amongst other words. One RN who exemplifies this is Sharon Filler.  Sharon gives of herself 110% every day to her peers, patients and families.  Recently identified was a need of neuro focused education for recently hired RNs. Sharon quickly agreed to plan for and provide a 2 day intensive neuro class to these RNs.  This not only enhanced their knowledge base but moved the bar higher on the level of quality care provided to patients in the neuro/trauma ICU.   

In exhibiting support of her peers and the care/compassion to patients and families, Sharon went with a Rapid Response RN to a code on the floor.  The patient had a written expression that they did not wish to be resuscitated in the event of a code.   Rather than immediately returning to the ICU, Sharon spoke with and provided comfort to the family while the primary RN focused on the care of the patient after death. 

Sharon is truly an Extraordinary Nurse in every sense of the word. She is a joy to work with, and you can rest assured that any patient she is caring for is receiving the highest level of quality and compassionate care available.
