Sharon is a dedicated, compassionate nurse who exemplifies the values, vision, and mission of SSM Health in her daily work.
I have Parkinson’s, and Sharon is always kind and caring about how I have been doing when I come in for an appointment. When I have tests done (blood work, X-ray, etc.) Sharon calls me with the results the same day, and if the APNP had seen any concerns with the results, Sharon explains to me the concerns and whether I need to make any changes to my meds.

We aren't sure what we would do without Sharon. She calls me back promptly when I call with concerns or questions. She listens to what I have to say. My family and I would be lost without Sharon, and I hope she can get recognized with this award.

Sharon Michaels has been so good to me and my extended family. She absolutely returns our calls every time we leave a message. She is prompt in calling in medications. Sharon is so kind and caring when we have an appointment. She listens and follows through with any concerns we have. Sharon is a great asset to the Healthcare system.

I have worked with Sharon Michaels for about 12 years. I am a nurse offsite at Marian University, and I work closely with Sharon. She is always very quick to respond and goes out of her way to help the college students. Sharon also deals with a lot of my family members. Sharon always takes her time, listens, and relays messages in a very timely manner, responding within a very short period. She is kind and caring and does her job well. Sharon is a DAISY Award Honoree in my opinion!

Sharon fulfills the vision of bringing peace, hope, and health to every person and family in the community. She goes above and beyond to meet patients' unmet needs. An example of this is bringing her own insulin pump equipment to a patient who was out, giving a patient a ride home, and delivering supplies to a home on her way home. She actively displays health disparities and collaborates to ensure patients have the necessary resources, equipment, and support to achieve positive health outcomes.
Beyond patient care, Sharon goes above and beyond daily to support her providers and contribute to the clinic's overall success. She has been noted to come in when staff are short, stay late, cover for other providers, and train new staff. She receives frequent compliments from patients who speak highly of her follow-through and getting things accomplished, such as prior authorizations. She goes above and beyond and is so kind to patients at risk and in need. Her unwavering dedication to the nursing profession and the clinic's mission is truly remarkable.
As an integral part of the team, Sharon plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the practice. I am the nurse practitioner she has worked with for over 15 years and would want no one else to work with, as she is detailed, thorough, and incredibly caring. She responds to phone calls as they come in, and recently, a patient said to me, "She was so understanding and did not make me feel stupid," and she puts up with my repeated calling.
