It is extremely special when you meet someone who has professional, specialist knowledge as well as such a kind, personable, caring manner.
When I was diagnosed three years ago with incurable lung cancer at the age of 48, it was a huge shock. On the day that my husband and I were given the news, Sharon introduced herself as a lung nurse specialist, and she has been at our side ever since. Sharon’s support, kindness, and advice are invaluable to me. I am so grateful for the help she provides whatever the situation - from guiding me through the daunting prospects of surgery and radiotherapy to being a kind, listening ear when I am feeling worried - Sharon has endless patience and wisdom. She also goes above and beyond when she arranges lunches and get-togethers for all of her patients, giving us all a chance to meet up in a non-medical setting. Sharon ensures we are cared for and seen as whole people, not just our diagnoses. It is extremely special when you meet someone who has professional, specialist knowledge as well as such a kind, personable, caring manner. Sharon is always there at the end of the phone or in person with a smile and a hug. She not only supports me but is there for my family too, and they all know how special she is to me. Thank you, Sharon from the bottom of my heart for everything you do. You are amazing!
