Shay has demonstrated excellence in providing our members with compassion and timely care. She implemented and led our office HSC program well over a decade ago, which has grown to a service provided at all MOBs - she has been hands-on in training all the nurses not only at BPK but all the MOBs - this HSC program expanded to other programs including our MVA program. She goes above and beyond to help providers in ensuring members are cared for (happy to share a recent example where she took care of our patient who decided to quarantine with her mother). She also ensures our staff are well informed on new workflows when she is asked to lead an effort

Shay is the go-to person in the department when staff or providers need assistance. She will find replacement staff, the hard-to-find instrument, or be the first nurse that arrives in an emergent situation. She leads and provides direction to ancillary staff during each and every code assist that occurs in the department, and assesses who is the best person to assist. In addition, she has excellent clinical skills, be it as the official procedure nurse, the go-to person to start a difficult IV, or the expert Golvo trainer who ensures our members are safe. She’s a positive influence as evidenced by how she encourages and shares her experience with others on the importance of furthering their education.
