Sharonda is the poster child for the qualities this award stands for! Her compassion shined when I was in severe pain and scared for the unscheduled C-Section. I was terrified and in so much pain, Sharonda personalized my care! She held my hand, told me everything would be find. She saw me through the epidural wearing off, C-Section and checked on me throughout my 4 day stay. She is my angel and an amazing nurse! The professionalism was evident. She was a role model for a Labor and Delivery nurse with her bedside manner. She encouraged others (me) to feel safe and comforted, she also helped one of the other unit nurses who was also pregnant. She supported the other staff and her care came when I needed it most. The quality I appreciated the most about Sharonda was how she listened to my needs, told me endearing stories and made the labor/delivery of my son an amazing experience. I believe Sharonda is the optimal candiate for the DAISY Award.
