Sharonda was the head nurse where my husband took dialysis before he passed away. When he passed away in another unit, within a few minutes, Sharonda was by my side to comfort me. She kept in touch with me after my husband's passing.
This year I decided to volunteer on the dialysis unit and saw firsthand how Sharonda was with Veterans. One Veteran was in a wheelchair and had to find a parking place and get his wheelchair out. Sharonda helped him out of the van into his chair and then parked his van. She is not a head nurse who sits around and gives orders. She is hands-on and helps all of the patients and nurses. She was an angle to me before and after my husband passed away. Sharonda deserves to be honored and the VA is lucky to have her.
