From the moment I entered triage I felt instantly at ease and cared for by my nurse Sharyn. She listened to my questions and concerns and made me feel truly heard. I was sad to be discharged as I was hopeful I could remain Sharyn’s patient. I returned to Rex two days later and after shift change, was greeted by Sharyn entering my room. She explained she had been watching the board for my name. She requested me as her patient when she saw I had returned. Her thoughtfulness and kindness were so touching during a stressful time.

As I labored, some complications led to discussions of a c-section. Something I was unprepared for mentally and very fearful of. Sharyn sat with me through tears, encouraging me about how common the procedure is, and even telling me about her own C-section experience. She told me she would be in the OR with me and hold my hand anytime I needed. Sharyn came to visit and check on me multiple times after surgery and while I was in Postpartum. She made me feel like more than just another patient. I felt truly cared for in every interaction I had with her. Sharyn is an incredible nurse who anyone is lucky to have during their time in labor and delivery. She made my experience at Rex something I will remember with joy and thankfulness.
