Where to begin? Shaun is an amazing person and nurse! Every time he is here he is such a blessing to work with. Shaun never fails to put a smile on the patients' faces as well as his co-workers'. He is always so positive. He is always a team player and he will always offer to help do anything if we need it, even if it's not his patient.
He stays calm in all situations. Our jobs are not easy but knowing he is part of the team makes it so much better. He is willing to go the extra mile for the patients and his coworkers. When Shaun is working on my team I feel less stressed, knowing he will make the day run smoothly. He will do the smallest things to help his patients, fellow nurses, and PCTs like take patients to the bathroom, get them water and he will often offer to do vitals if we are short-staffed that day. Never saying he is busy, he is always willing to help out. He will often volunteer to help out if he hears a call on the radio asking for help.
We need more medical staff like Shaun. It is hard to impress me, but Shaun continues to do this each time we work together. Knowing you have him behind you makes the day go better. The patients all love how calm and compassionate he is with them.
Recently, we had a patient and family who went on and on about how calming Shaun was when they received some results they were praying not to receive. Shaun took the time to sit with the family and answer all the questions they had, and they did not feel rushed. He reassured them that we would do all we can to help their loved ones. The daughter cried as she was telling me the story and how she will never forget that he took the extra time with them.
Shaun treats his patients like they are his family. He has recently devoted a lot of his time to his family, helping to care for his father. Witnessing the blessing he is to our patients and families here is a glimpse into the comfort he must be for his own family. He is an amazing caregiver and a big blessing for 4E. We are so lucky to have him on our team!
