Shaun advocated for a patient who had been transferred from another hospital's ED after falling at home. The patient arrived with a foley in place and complaining of lower back and groin pain and no x-ray had been done to those areas. Shaun suggested to the physician that an x-ray be completed, and the physician said a femur x-ray had already been done. Shaun shared how much pain that the patient was in and persistent that a pelvic x-ray be completed. The physician ordered a pelvic x-ray which was done and showed a pelvic fracture. Shaun helped to prevent the patient from having further pain and an appropriate plan of care and discharge plan could be made based on this information. She was an amazing advocate using her skills and persistence for her patient in making a difference.
