Shauna was the nurse for a young woman with many health problems that complicated her discharge. At one point, she was thinking about comfort care measures. I rounded on this patient daily. One day I entered her room and the patient had a smile on her face. I noticed there were several cut out flowers that had been colored all over her walls. I asked her where they came from. She got a huge smile on her face and said, "Shauna did that for me!", After this day, the patient regained her will to fight and was eventually discharged from the hospital!
