MKDH Maternal Fetal Med, Shauna Cheshire, RN Specialty, the patient's spouse wanted to specifically thank Shauna for possibly saving their baby. Shauna had seen the patient and ended up doing a BPP. The BPP score was low and the patient was sent to delivery for an evaluation. The patient had ultimately been discharged from delivery and was walking down the hall to go home until Shauna caught up with her and asked what happened. Shauna went into action and notified the doctor to ensure the notes from the earlier testing had been seen and reviewed. Ultimately, the patient was returned to Labor and Delivery, and a healthy baby was delivered.

The father stated, “There was a true knot in the cord, and the cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck multiple times. We believe Shauna’s actions saved our baby today!"
