I cried and Shauna sat and held me and comforted me.
I came in with a perforated diverticulum. Nurse Shauna was so very helpful and explained that she had a resection. I was released without surgery. She went over and beyond as I was a fall risk and frequently needed help. I was readmitted for surgery resection of the sigmoid colon and I had a drain tube. I asked if she was working, as I really needed her to get through this nightmare. Someone told her I was here and another staff member. She came and surprised me right before her shift ended. I cried and Shauna sat and held me and comforted me. I needed that and to ask her what to expect and she said "you got this! If I can do it, you can". It calmed me and I was so glad to see her. She wasn't going to be back until Monday and I wasn't sure I could do this without her. She went over and beyond to help with IV start as I was not easy to poke. Her compassion is exceptional! The staff here are AMAZING... every one of them. Shauna deserves the DAISY Award, you are lucky to have her as an employee.
