I would like to let you know Shawn Abbott is the best nurse anyone could ever have on there team. I am sure as being his supervisor you already know this. He is a perfect example of the ICARE Values. I have been in the ER here in Biloxi many times. Mr. Abbott was the first responder to my two most recent visits to the ER. If not for his calmness and professionalism I do not believe I would have felt comfortable receiving the care I received at the ER. I have used many VAs since I have been out of the service. I have been seen in Texas, Louisiana, and Wisconsin. Even in all these specialty clinic and admission for brain procedures, no one has shown more care, compassion, or empathy as Mr. Abbott. You can hear all the other nurses calling for “Shawn” to assist them, and he happily assisted. After coming from CT and having to go the X-ray escort was busy transferring other Veterans for what every they needed. To ensure proper and timely treatment for both myself and the Dr. ordering the images. Mr. Abbott was able to find the time to get me to X-ray and back. I am glad to know that in a system where it seems Veterans only like to speak up when something is done wrong I can take a moment to say something great.
