Shawn Neese, RN

I am a fellow coworker and nurse. I am nominating Shawn because of her support and guidance in the five years I have worked at St. Mary's Hospital. Working on Mental Health is very stressful as are all areas of nursing. Throughout the pandemic and always, Shawn goes above and beyond for our patients and to help all her peers. She is very thorough and takes care of the whole person, not just their mental health. If a patient has other health problems, she does not overlook this. Shawn has stepped up in our ongoing staffing shortage and helped out with covering and trying to find staff too. She has advocated and supported our unit in possibly unsafe situations. Personally, she has talked me through some difficult interactions with our patients. I appreciate her, and I think I can speak for our unit when I say that when she is there, her guidance and knowledge make you feel better about any problems you may face through your shift.
