I went into the hospital on my 49th birthday. I was shocked to find out I had a sugar level of almost 800 and didn't even know I was diabetic at all! After being admitted into the hospital this wonderful nurse came in to see me to explain to me everything about diabetes in a way I could understand. He was patient and thorough. I was overwhelmed and scared and still in shock that I had diabetes. This lovely man says, "Don't worry, you got this". I thank God he helped me to see a positive in a negative. He is my hero and the reason why I will be switching all my services to St. Vincent. Thank you, Shawn O'Neill!
