Shawn was very attentive to my needs while in my room, but he also went above and beyond his duties after I was released by the doctor. I was using Southeast Trans to drive me back to Warsaw. I had already made arrangements the day before. They called and told me a driver would be there in 16 minutes and they would only wait 5 minutes. Shawn rushed to get all of my things bagged. Then he rushed me down to the entrance to wait. We weren't late. Shawn sat with me waiting for my ride. 1/2 hour later, I received a text saying the driver canceled. I was contacted again about 1/2 hour later saying they were sending another driver.
Shawn bought me a cup of coffee while we waited. I got another text saying the driver canceled. Shawn knew I was getting very frustrated, so he talked about different things to help me from getting too frustrated. Then much later I was told they didn't have a driver for me. Shawn made several calls to straighten the mess out. I tried to call a couple of friends, but they never answered the call. I was distraught by that time. Then I got a final call from Southeast Trans telling me AGAIN they have a driver. Shawn took me downstairs to the entrance and we waited AGAIN, and a car finally showed up to drive me to Warsaw. I don't know what would have happened if Shawn hadn't stayed with me giving me pep talks. He is a fantastic Nurse and human being! He really deserves this Award!
