Shawn has the most teamwork approach. He comes in on his days off to help give chemotherapy to patients. He steps up to charge and is fair and detailed. He is the UBT co-lead and leads projects that positively impact workflows and best practices for the team.

Shawn is exceptionally compassionate. While rounding on his patients they consistently say Shawn took the time to explain things in a way they understood. He advocates for his patients' needs and escalates concerns for the safest results. When Shawn identifies a knowledge deficit in the team, he seeks to fill it. He partners with Education Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Transportation ensuring we create an environment and culture to provide exemplary care.

Shawn gave chemo on 4 S yesterday (not his unit). Saw the strain on the RNs and dove in to assist. The step-up charge said, "he encouraged her and provided support when really needed it." Shawn is the nurse we can rely on. He is kind, trustworthy, and compassionate to all he cares for and works with. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
