My fiancé was in the hospital for a leg amputation; Shawn treated not only the patient with respect but family members also. Shawn wasn’t a sad looking nurse, he had a smile the whole time we saw him. He always was there when we needed him. Shawn was like family right at the very first moment we met him. Respectfully, Shawn was also concerned about each of us. He patiently explained things to the patient and family where we could understand. Shawn became family at first sight. The patient always talks about how smart he was, he was called his brother and family took him as their family. An awesome RN. We the family love him dearly with high respect. Shawn, continue your good outstanding work. You are amazing.

Shawn was very attentive to my father’s needs. My father came in for sepsis and he has been here for several days. During this time he has become very confused and disoriented. Shawn actually sat there with him to listen to him when he was speaking and was having a full-fledged conversation with him versus just giving him medication and leaving. He made my father and myself feel very comfortable and I trusted leaving knowing my father was in good care with him. Shawn also checked in with him frequently with his amazing sense of humor which made my father laugh. My father hasn’t smiled in the six days that he has been here and that was really heartfelt. I appreciate nurses like Shawn and we need more of him to care for patients. Thank you, Shawn!
