shawna holbrook, RN, BA, MSN, CNL
graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing in July 2009. She also holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and a BA in English from the University of Iowa.
Shawna is a staff nurse in the Palliative Care unit and was nominated by the family of a terminal cancer patient that Shawna cared for, noting her great compassion for their father and her willingness to talk with them at any time. Not only is Shawna a nurse on the Palliative Care unit but she has been an Iowa City Hospice volunteer in her off hours for 4 years. Shawna lives locally in Coralville. She is a trained massage therapist, a talent many of her patients and co-workers benefit from! She has a special love for animals, being the proud “parent” to 2 dogs and 2 cats. Shawna is very “health” oriented in her personal life. She is a vegetarian by choice and practices a holistic style of living.
