Shawna Kohout was nominated for the DAISY Award by the daughter of a patient in our ICU who wrote:
"In the many years that I and my family have used the services at Winchester Hospital, we have come to appreciate the gentle and caring nature of the nursing profession, Shawna displayed tenderness toward my mother that we will never forget". She went on to describe the careful and caring calm way Shawna interacted with her ill mother on a personal level. "Shawna treated Mom with dignity and respect", she wrote. "I wish to express the appreciation of our entire family for Shawna's dedication to her chosen profession and her patients".
