Shawna always puts the patient first and will go above and beyond the call of duty. She is never in a bad mood and her positivism spreads to everyone on the floor, even simply with a 'good morning!' I have never seen her get upset or frustrated. She helps with anything as little as helping slide up a patient, to helping set up follow up appointments for the patient after discharge. There was one specific time where I had a patient with multiple family issues.

The family has been very involved and had been very time consuming and draining for me. It was finally time for the patient to be discharged, but the family did not find it safe for him to go home. Shawna was able to step in and help out with the discharge, even going as far as calling the patient's neighbor to let her know that the patient was coming home and to see if she would be able to check up on them once they arrived.

I feel that she has been such a huge part of our unit and I truly appreciate all the work and joy she brings everyday!
