Shawneen has always been such a great support and a great RN. I can trust her with patient care and any task asked of her. When patients have concerns or are sick you can see her compassion for the patient on her face. She respects every employee and treats them all equally even if they are not from our unit. Multiple times I have seen her strongly advocate for patients to make sure their needs are taken care of in a timely manner. Shawneen has shown exemplary practice by advancing her leadership roles. She always strives for the best for herself and others. She will stay late to help nurses complete tasks. Throughout her years at WPH she has learned so much that when I come to her with questions and they are always answered. When rare questions come along she will make sure she has answers before the end of the day. When doing rounds she will spend 45 minutes in a patient's room talking and making sure the patients are 100% happy when she leaves. She is a compassionate, caring, dependable, and respectful leader. She will skip lunch to make sure her RNs can eat. She makes me want to be a better nurse. On a crazy day, she is the calm that holds us all together!
