March 2020 Honoree
Shay Connally, RN
The story of my two-day colonoscopy may not be unique, but it taxed me in ways unforeseen at the outset, and I was greatly relieved by Shay's sympathy, compassion, and help.
The required lengthy preparations by me had to be verified in detail each day, and she made the process easy and friendly with her smile, her great experience, and her aura of calm. On-site preparations are not lengthy, but they must be conducted with the rest of the staff, and she carried out these duties, again with competence and compassion. Considering I'd been through the first uncomfortable day of fasting and tightly scheduled preparation, followed by yet another day of uncomfortable preparation and fasting, leaving me apprehensive and somewhat dazed.
Shay's caring manner and professional demeanor made the entire experience vastly more tolerable and eventually successful.
