Shay was a great technician, helping to keep the dialysis machine going and calling for help when needed.
She was "Johnny on the spot" ALL of the time, responding in 10 seconds or less to alarms, bathroom emergencies, and concerns. She always said, "No, let me do that!"
She answered questions with terminology that was understandable rather than a medical answer. She spent the majority of her time with her patients. She took a genuine interest in my care and worked tirelessly to help in any way she could.
Patient care was Shay's number 1 priority. She was willing to contact doctors with our concerns. She listened!
At shift change, she made sure the next nurse was aware of issues. Also checking after a shift to see how it went.
She shared her story, both past, and future, to make us more comfortable. R said she was the best nurse he ever had.
