Perhaps I should start by mentioning I have suffered heart problems since 1982 resulting in treatments in multiple hospitals across southern California and Las Vegas. The result being this review contrasts an opinion based on experiences in quite a few hospitals. I was admitted to Las Vegas, NV, Summerlin Hospital for an Out Patient Angiogram. I arrived as directed at 5:30 AM for the surgery scheduled at 7:30 AM. Unfortunately, due to the current virus problems no family or friends were permitted to be present.
Breaking the experience into two sections Surgery team and Hospital Staff, 1-Surgery team. Amazingly everything happened on time. I know, I know, that doesn't seem possible but it was true on this day. The surgery was scheduled for 7:30AM and it happened at 7:36 AM. Not only did the surgery happen on time the surgery staff were terrific. Knowledgeable, professional, efficient. In all respects some of the best.
2-Hospital Staff. As I mentioned earlier, I arrived at 5:30 AM and was taken back to pre-OP where nurses Pinky and Shay took over. These two incredible nurses stepped up and took complete care of myself and 8 to 10 other patients for the next 8 hours. Through both pre-op and post-op conditions; Always informative; Always helpful; Always caring; Always smiling; Always positive. They were not only amazing to experience, they were amazing to watch. As I mentioned earlier, no family, no friends, so no personal advocates. That was not my experience that day. I felt each of these ladies/nurses not only took care of patient business, but established relationships with each patient. They became each patient's personal advocate. Both were incredible caregivers. They were of course knowledgeable and professional, but somehow became closer and were intuitive as to their patients' needs be it medical or a simple calming conversation. These two nurses are two of the best I have ever experienced.
