Shay found that one of her patients needed some good foot care. She spent time researching in-home foot care options that were available. What she found was that there were businesses that would provide foot care in the home at a cost of $60. Her patient could not afford the $60. Shay, knowing that good foot care would enhance the quality of her patient's life and provide comfort, reached out to several of the providers and found one willing to bill Hospice for the service. Shay went above and beyond for her patient. As a result, Hospice has a Foundation Grant in place that will enable other patients to have foot care in the home.
