She gave me the individual attention I needed to keep a good mental attitude. It was a real eye-opener to experience the hard work Shayla put forth.
I’ve never had a situation to be in a hospital. Being admitted was overwhelming at the least. I was there for 5 days. I was admitted for shortness of breath (due to what was diagnosed as adult-onset asthma). I was scared of the unknown. All of this was so foreign to me and my husband. Shayla became like a true friend, giving me comfort and confidence that I was going to pull through. Throughout my stay, Shayla picked up on my anxiousness and always explained the various treatments and tests and expected outcomes. She never hesitated in contacting the attending physician to get direction. All of this time, she gave me the individual attention I needed to keep a good mental attitude. It was a real eye-opener to experience the hard work Shayla put forth. Her care required her to be stretched, and run constantly between patients. Never did Shayla complain or show stress. She would come into my room asking “anything I can get for you?” and “how are you doing?” Such caring with professionalism! Shayla genuinely showed loving care with confidence, I knew I was in good hands. I left the hospital feeling lucky to have had Shayla as my nurse. She totally went above and beyond what I expected.
