Shaylee A Jelinek, BSN, RN

1LT Shaylee Jelinek displayed compassion, advocacy, commitment, professionalism, and exceptional care and was a team player in working with another nurse to help a new mother. After this new mom was flown to Madigan from Alaska, without her infant who had to remain in the NICU, she had no clothes, no luggage and no way to transport her expressed breastmilk back to Alaska for her infant. 1LT Jelinek donated her luggage, helped to pack her breastmilk and breast pump for the return flight, and provided the mom with a ride to the airport! Because of her actions, this new mom was able to get back home to Alaska, with her breastmilk and be with her baby. 1LT Shaylee Jelinek is a model soldier and exceptional RN who displays all the Army values and all of the qualities of a DAISY Nurse!
