Shay is a wonderful nurse who always comes to work with a smile and a positive personality each day. I have seen her go the extra mile for patients and fellow staff on multiple occasions. In one instance in particular she brought a patient to recovery with an IV site she noticed needed to be replaced. She personally made sure to change it out while the patient was still sleeping (even though it could have been done in recovery by another nurse) as well as remove and dress the other site. While talking to her I found out that she had shared a great suggestion with the doctor to better help manage the patient's pain after this particular procedure. She is also great at anticipating supplies the nurse may need for recovery and will bring them before you have the chance to ask. She has so much compassion for her patients and does what she can to help the entire perioperative team!
