The nursing care I received from Shaylen was truly special. She showed genuine compassion and understanding during one of the hardest moments of my life. She took the time to listen and make me feel supported rather than rushed and dismissive. Her kindness and calm presence made a painful experience feel a little less overwhelming.
What inspired me to nominate her for a DAISY Award was how personal and heartfelt her care was. She shared a similar story from her own life, which made me feel less alone and helped me feel understood in a way that meant so much to me. She wasn't afraid to talk about grief; she reminded me that grief is a natural part of life and that it's okay to let myself feel it.
